THE Mayor of Ipswich is set to feast on Indian cuisine to raise money for the Mayor's Charity Appeal Fund, which supports The National Children's Home, St Matthew Housing and The Katie Trust.
Maureen Carrington-Brown is to dine at the Maharani Indian Restaurant in Norwich Road, Ipswich, on Sunday, October 14, for the Special Maharani Charity Evening.
The event, which is open to all, will begin at 7pm, and those present will be able to choose from a variety of starters, main courses and side dishes. The restaurant will donate part of the receipts of the evening to the Appeal Fund.
The price for the menu will be £14 per person.
The Mayor has chosen the three charities for her Mayoral Year of 2001/2.
The National Children's Home helps children at risk both nationally and locally, while St Matthew Housing provides accommodation for vulnerable people. The Katie Trust researches into brain tumours.
